Instructions

Bake a good shortcrust pastry and cool. Combine 1 tin condensed milk, 5 large bananas and 6 passionfruit. Add juice of 2 lemons. Chill.

Yeh! Have just made this tart again tonight for a 50th Wedding Anniversary. Homemade short crust pastry much nice than bought stufff too.

Paradise Tart was the first recipe I wrote in the exercise book “we all had to have” when we got married in 1964 with our mother’s and auntie’s recipe all handwritten into it! I didn’t have a clue how to cook but that tart was one delicious thing I really could make without mucking it up. My recipe had a topping of Tongala tinned cream with 4 teaspoons of sugar, pinch of salt and 1/5 tablespoons of lemon juice spread on top.

Couldn’t buy the Tongala tinned cream anywhere now but managed to find some long life cream in a small carton. Worked just the same.

Delicious.
