Ingredients
  • 4 large eggs
  • ¾ cup castor sugar
  • pinch salt
  • 45 g plain flour
  • 125 g Fielders (wheaten) cornflour
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • ½ teas bicarbonate soda
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
  1. Beat well eggs, sugar and salt, for 10 minutes. Lightly fold in sifted dry ingredients. Melt butter, add milk and warm gently. Add vanilla. Lightly stir warm mixture into sponge mixture. Place in 2 x 20cm sponge tins. Bake in moderate oven for 20 minutes. Cool in tins for a few minutes before turning out on to a cooler.
