Caramel Biscuits

Ingredients
  • 125 g butter or margarine
  • 60 g sugar
  • 1 cup self raising flour
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ginger
  • Topping
  • 4 tablespoons icing sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ½ teaspoon ginger
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon golden syrup
Instructions
  1. Cream butter and sugar. Add sifted dry ingredients. Press onto a greased tray. Prick with a fork. Bake in a moderate oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
  2. Place all topping ingredients into a saucepan and stir over a low heat until butter is melted and well mixed. Pour over biscuit while both are still warm. Cut into squares when cold.
