Ingredients
- 2 cups self raising flour
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons icing sugar
- 1 egg
- ½ cup chopped dates
- ½ to ¾ cup of milk (depending on the size of egg)
Instructions
- Rub butter into sifted dry ingredients, add dates. Beat egg, add milk and mix to a soft dough. Turn onto a floured board and press out to 1 cm thickness. Cut out scones and place on greased tray, glaze with milk. Bake in a hot oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
