Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 4 tablespoons boiling water
- pinch salt
- boiling fruit, already stewed (apricots are especially nice)
Instructions
- Beat butter and sugar, add egg and boiling water. Sift in dry ingredients. Put the fruit with very little juice in a pie dish. Cover with the batter and bake about ½ an hour in a moderate oven.
